Community Workshops

Community workshops inspired by the stained glass of Trena Cox have begun in earnest! The Friends of the Countess of Chester Country Park have organised a series of workshops delivered by The Art Doctor and supported by The Arts Society Chester. Participating community groups made beautiful daisies from sustainable materials which are on display in the Chester Cathedral gardens throughout the summer. This project is exactly what I had in mind when I began The Trena Cox Project four years ago - a positive, collaborative, creative experience reaching across the local community! Thank you to everyone involved.

Meanwhile, artist Clare Owens visited St Werburgh's and St Columba's Primary School in Hoole to work with over 300 pupils!

They made these vibrant stained glass windows from paper which will be displayed as a hanging installation in Chester Cathedral during the exhibition Trena Cox: Reflections 100 this autumn. The work looked beautiful with the sun streaming through it! I hope pupils will visit Chester Cathedral to see their work in situ and find out more about stained glass.

There will be more fantastic, creative community workshops taking place throughout the coming months - I can't wait!
